What about mobile phone coverage in the Daintree area?

There is patchy coverage north of the river (Cape Tribulation and Cow Bay). Generally, there is reasonable coverage on the southern approach to the Daintree River and good coverage in the Daintree Village and also at the Daintree Ferry area.

But in my experience – the only mobile phones that work up here are Telstra or Telstra compatible systems from overseas.

You may have to rely on the old-fashion landlines in some places up here.
